1068 The Alameda Artworks!

November means the BIG OPEN STUDIOS! Almost every artist at The Alameda Artworks has an open studio this weekend. It's a fantastic art collection event, but also a social one. Meet a lot of different artists and network. This is a kid-friendly event.

Play with a surprisingly abundant art material-- discarded plastic! We will experiment and play with collage using shopping bags, tablecloths, and other plastic that comes and goes through our lives. Design a collage or patchwork of small collages and make a usable tote bag that looks beautiful and takes a little load off the planet.  No sewing experience necessary. Ages 16+. Sign up here!

In time for the spookiest month, a sewing class that teaches kids the basics of hand sewing through a medium they will love: stuffies! We will take toys apart and mix and match their parts to create a freaky new thing.  Everyone will also sew an eyeball pincushion they can really use.  2.5-hour workshop is for kids 10 and up.
